  • Mittagong Public School has 390 students. The school has 15 mainstream classes and two support classes. The support classes are IM, (Mild Intellectual Disability) and ED, (Emotional Disability).

    There are 19 permanent teachers, 3 part time teachers and a part time school counsellor. The teachers of both support classes are assisted by full time School Learning Support Officers. The school has a permanent administration manager and administration officer as well as 2 part time administration officers and a general assistant. There are 2 part time School Learning Support Officers who assist with the integration of students with special needs within mainstream classes.

    New enrolments are always welcome for students residing in the school's local enrolment area. This area includes all of the town of Mittagong, adjoining villages of Welby, Willow Vale, Balaclava and Braemar as well as the surrounding rural areas. Students residing to the west of Mittagong along Wombeyan Caves Road and surrounds are also included in the school's local enrolment zone. Families living in other areas may apply for non-local enrolment. A special non-local enrolment application form for special consideration for a place at the school needs to be completed.
